Rent this entire beautiful, historic home within 15-minute walking distance to downtown Iowa City for what you’d pay for three hotel rooms in a good location. Prices range from $400 to $600 per night, depending on seasonal demands (plus 12% mandatory tax). When your group stays in the Koza House, the owners turn the keys over to you and leave.
Three bedrooms are available—the Master Bedroom, Children’s Room and Servant’s Quarter. You can also use a sofa bed in the library.
The updated kitchen and bathroom are equipped with ultra-modern conveniences (a second bathroom is located in the basement). Amenities include free Wi-Fi in each room, washer/dryer, off-street parking. Other perks include coffee, an assortment of teas, fruit, cereal and a baker who delivers fresh pastries to the door each morning (except on Sundays).
Master Bedroom
Spacious master bedroom with large window fronts N. Linn Street, Iowa City’s first brick road, paved in 1907—the same year the Koza family built their grand foursquare home. Look out the window and see the original hitching post the family used for their horse and buggy. Today, modern conveniences include free WiFi, internet television with Netflix/Pandora accessibility, iron and a hair dryer.
Children's Room
This cozy bedroom contains a queen-sized bed (to be replaced summer 2012 with two twin beds), an American 19th century antique side table and a leather recliner. Original paintings and prints by a Midwestern artist add beauty and play to this relaxing space. Amenities include free Wi-Fi, digital cable television, iron and a hair dryer.
